Big Bass Blast
Big Bass Blast is one of those games I opened expecting to close in five minutes, and then looked up an hour later. The idea is simple: you cast your line, wait for a bite, and tap at the right moment to hook and reel in whatever's on the other end. The catch, so to speak, is in the timing — a colourful meter fills up and you have to release at the sweet spot, and the bigger fish demand a steadier hand.
What surprised me is how satisfying the reeling feels. There's a little haptic buzz when a big bass hits the line, and the animation of dragging it up through the water never got old. As you progress you unlock new spots — a calm lake, a rushing river, a foggy morning pier — each with its own fish and a slightly different rhythm to learn. Controls are all one-thumb, which makes it perfect for playing on a couch or in a queue.
It's not a deep game and it doesn't pretend to be. There's a light collection element where you fill out a fish album, and that gave me just enough reason to keep coming back. If you want something bright, low-pressure and genuinely relaxing, Big Bass Blast is an easy one to recommend.
